Tiny slits covering the EPDM surfaces blows up (expand) when air pressure is applied.

Slits or holes in the EPDM membrane are .05 mm in size and therefore provide superior oxygenation. Larger slits create larger bubbles and thus less oxygenation.

Self cleaning with normal air flow. Throttling of the air on and off provides virtually complete self cleaning.

DID YOU KNOW- Once you apply air to the diffuser, the EPDM membrane expands a little bit. As a result, the diffuser will float to the surface. Yes, you can wedge rocks around the diffuser to try to hold it down, or place rocks on top of the air tubing to try to keep things from floating, but is that what you really want in the bottom of your pond? We can supply a black weighted base that will attach to the diffusers' male threads. It screws right onto the diffuser. Our base includes a barbed fitting that will push into 1/2 inch I.D. tubing.

No need to clutter your pond bottom trying to keep the diffuser from floating and no need to search hardware stores for fittings that fit. You get everything needed. It's a nice neat, clean, professional set up. Our Weighted Bases will arrive with the weight already installed into the base. No need to add sand, or gravel or anything - Just connect to your air source.
